Our story
A house from the white years
The house went up in the twenties, when Biarritz filled with white facades, striped awnings and people who came for the sea and stayed for the evenings. It was apartments for most of the century, and by the time we took it on the balconies had been boxed in and the staircase painted over. We stripped it back to the mouldings and the ironwork, kept the black-and-brass lines of the entrance, and rebuilt everything else around a simple idea: a small hotel that is easy to come back to.
The basement became the Souresga casino, the ground floor our bar and kitchen, and the back of the house a thalasso room fed with sea water.

Thalasso room
Sea water, warmed up
The thalasso room is small on purpose: a sea-water pool, a sauna and two treatment rooms that use algae and salt from this coast. It is open from early morning, and after a session in the Atlantic in October it is the reason some guests book at all. Treatments are arranged a day ahead at the desk.

The Souresga Casino
One floor below the lobby, the casino keeps the lines of the house it sits in: black and brass, low lamps and a bar with a short list and a long night. Slot machines, French and English roulette, blackjack, baccarat and a poker room, open to the house and to visitors of 18 and upwards.

The house croupiers deal cards nightly. Private tables can be booked in the salon off the main floor.
